US artist Emma Stone named 2017 richest actress in Hollywood

US artist Emma Stone is named 2017 highest-paid actress in Hollywood making USD 26m for 12 months.

Forbes’ annual list of top earners released in August indicated the 28-year-old is highest earning female actress making the huge sum pretax mostly thanks to her Oscar-winning performance in the musical ‘La La Land’.

The estimated earnings the actress banked between June 2016 and June 2017 come as she recently slammed Hollywood’s pay inequality.

“In my career so far, I’ve needed my male co-stars to take a pay cut so that I may have parity with them,” she said, adding, “And that’s something they do for me because they feel it’s what’s right and fair. That’s something that’s also not discussed, necessarily: that our getting equal pay is going to require people to selflessly say, ‘That’s what’s fair.’”

Stone edge passed Jennifer Aniston with USD 25.5m while the latter bests Jennifer Lawrence who gained third spot with USD 24m.

Aniston’s and Lawrence’s earnings include endorsements besides acting.
